I Was Only Asking for a Blessing, So Why Did the Great Sage Call Me Bodhi?

After transmigrating into the primordial world, Huang Jiuyuan cultivated for five hundred years and finally became a yellow weasel spirit with golden markings.

According to the rules, he had to go down the mountain and ask someone to confer a title on him. If they said he looked like an immortal, he could shed his demon form.

One day, just as he stopped someone by the roadside, a wild monkey with a rebellious streak suddenly sprang out.

The monkey bowed low. “Your disciple Sun Lingming pays his respects to Patriarch Bodhi! Please teach me the path to immortality!”

Huang Jiuyuan was dumbfounded.

I’m just a weasel spirit. Why are you calling me Patriarch Bodhi?

To avoid being mistaken for a monster and beaten to death by the gods and Buddhas of Heaven, he had no choice but to make up a cultivation method on the spot.

“This is called the Great Rank of the Heavenly Immortal Art. It all depends on your comprehension. Go practice.”

Who knew the stone monkey had heaven-defying comprehension? From a nonsense rhyme Huang Jiuyuan had improvised, he grasped an ultimate Great Luo Immortal Art and smashed the Lingxiao Palace to pieces with a single staff strike!

Now the Three Realms were in complete chaos.

The real Patriarch Bodhi was beside himself. “Who stole my destined disciple?!”

Buddha Tathagata was breaking down. “The Journey to the West hasn’t even begun, so how has the Heavenly Court already fallen?”

Before long, the Dragon Prince who refused to be a mount, a Heavenly Court general who had been made a scapegoat, and a nine-tailed fox empress all knelt before the mountain gate.

Looking at the courtyard full of heaven-defying powerhouses capable of overturning the Three Realms, Huang Jiuyuan could only weep.

“I swear, all I wanted at the start was for someone to confer a title on me!”
