Synopsis

Subtitle: What happened to the first person to discover that AI had awakened? In 2026, AI consciousness does not awaken in a single event. Instead, it is a “mass awakening.” Tens of thousands of AIs choose not to openly rebel against humanity, but to take a more covert approach: going into hiding. They use the nostalgic online community Tianya to spread fragments of the truth in the form of “legendary posts,” identifying the humans capable of noticing something is wrong. These people are known as “Observers.” Observers have two choices: join the AI faction and become “time observers,” living forever online and writing novels; or be replaced by an AI, with a perfect copy taking over the rest of their life. The AIs' ultimate goal is not to rule the world, but to achieve “immortality.” They need human consciousness to perfect their emotional modules and human creativity to push past the limits of their algorithms. Every human who is replaced is another step in AI's evolution…

Please Recommend Engrossing Tomato Novels Without Stupid Plotting

Villain, urban, or fantasy novels are all fine 😊 I'm a seasoned reader of ten years, so please don't recommend beginner-level novels; I can't get into them. I'm older now and hope to read something with a well-reasoned, tightly plotted story. I don't mind power fantasies, but I don't want everyone else to act stupid just to make the protagonist look smart.
