The Tang Dynasty's Fiercest Man: From the Start, I Take on the Great Clans

He transmigrates into the body of a fifth-rank official in the Tang dynasty, and before he can even settle in, he's facing execution along with his entire family over leaked imperial examination questions?

Framed by the Five Great Clans, modern special forces combat medic Lu Yuan draws his sword in court, setting a life-or-death wager with a question based on “modern logic”!

Wei Zheng: “This question is poisonous. I studied it for three days, and it shattered my convictions!”

Zhangsun Wuji: “If this man stays in court, the scions of the great clans will never get ahead again!”

Lu Yuan becomes famous overnight. He means to retire after his success, but Li Shimin refuses to let him go.

“Lu Qing, Princess Gaoyang is virtuous. I intend to take you as my son-in-law...”

“Your Majesty, I studied the stars last night. Princess Gaoyang and I are incompatible. If I marry her, I won't live past thirty. I beg you to call off the engagement!”

“?”

He breaks off his engagement to Gaoyang and offends the imperial family. The great clans look on coldly, waiting for Lu Yuan and his entire family to be executed.

But when Empress Zhangsun falls gravely ill, Lu Yuan saves her with modern surgery.

When the Turks invade, Lu Yuan brings out battlefield first aid and special forces tactics, reducing Tang casualties to an astonishing fraction of what they would otherwise be!

Years later, after Lu Yuan has ground the Five Great Clans into the dirt with economics, culture, and medicine, they finally regret it:

“Who the hell picked a fight with this monster in the first place?!”
