Black Myth: Wukong: The Great Sage's Hateful Bones

Zixia crumbled to ash, leaving behind a bone-white golden circlet. The instant Sun Wukong put it on, memories sealed away for five hundred years surged back like a tsunami. The so-called pilgrimage to attain Buddhahood had been nothing but a prison of memories set by the Tathagata.

He abandoned Mount Ling, stormed the Immortal-Slaying Terrace, shattered Leifeng Pagoda, and broke into the Ruins of the Three Realms.

He would gather seven drops of heartfelt tears from the most devoted people in the Three Realms and restore Zixia’s body.

But when he finally stood before the Heavenly Dao, he discovered the truth:

Every act of defiance, every battle, every moment of despair and every outburst had all been part of the Tathagata’s script.

“You may have scripted my whole life, but I refuse to be a piece on the board that falls into place.”
