Lin Zhengying: Guardian of the Mountains and Rivers of the Mystic Gate

In the final years of the Qing dynasty and the early Republic, the land was in turmoil and war raged everywhere. Yin and yang had fallen out of balance, and ghosts and demons ran rampant. Lin Zhengying, heir to a renowned feng shui family in Meizhou, Guangdong, had learned his family's secret feng shui arts and Maoshan Taoist magic from childhood. With unwavering righteousness, a peachwood sword and a compass in hand, he traveled through this troubled age. From haunted rural houses and century-old jiangshi in the dying days of the Qing, to urban sorcery and strange creatures in the foreign concessions of the early Republic, and then to malevolent forces on the battlefields and the Japanese invaders' sinister rites during the War of Resistance, Lin Zhengying used arcane arts to unravel feng shui mysteries and righteous power to drive away demons and ghosts. He befriended chivalrous wanderers, subdued a mischievous ghost servant, battled evil sorcerers, and uncovered an ancient, thousand-year-old evil formation. In a turbulent era, he used the power of the mystic arts to protect the people and defend the balance of yin and yang across the land of China, writing a legendary tale that spanned the end of the Qing dynasty and the Republic of China.
