Harry Potter: The Dark Lord’s Parenting Diary

Warning: There are many original plot points and author-created details. I’ll try to keep everyone in character. This started as an indulgent work inspired by casual rambling, but gradually turned into a serious, brain-teasing story. Voldemort’s Horcrux diary, Big Tom, unexpectedly awakens in 1984, seven years before Harry starts school, and is forced to bind itself to a mysterious child named Alice. And so, there are two Voldemorts in the world at once, fighting for custody of the child (not really). Harry: “I have to fight the Dark Lord? No problem! Why’s there another one after I beat the first?” Death Eaters: “The Dark Lord I serve split into two?!” Snape: “My undercover work just doubled. Dumbledore, this isn’t what we agreed on!” The serious version: When diary Tom awakens early, he meets a child with Unicorn Blood... He gives her a name, teaches her magic, and plays the part of an “overprotective big brother,” weaving a cage called “home” around her. He is determined to tame this child of light and turn her into the perfect tool for conquering death. Meanwhile, she sees him as her whole world: an all-powerful mentor and “big brother” who keeps trying to become her father. But the plan to raise her gradually spirals out of control. She turns curses into pranks, treats Veritaserum as part of a “Truth or Dare” game, and announces, “Tommy is a diary that came to life!” Tom: He falls into deep thought, caught between “This Horcrux is a lost cause” and “A Horcrux is basically me, so I’d better put up with it.” Alice: “Hehe, I want both love and power~” “There’s more than one way to make the world fear you!” When an angel is raised on lies by a demon, and darkness deceives the light with the promise of family, what will become of this “performance of love” that began as a means to an end?
