Rule Horror: I Can Understand the Hidden Clues

An Abyssal game descended, dragging 197 countries into paranormal challenge instances. Clear an instance, and your nation gains fortune; fail, and it loses territory. The first seven challengers from the Dragon Nation all died, sending its national fortune to dead last in the world. When Lin Mo was selected, the Abyss placed the highest-level Calamity Curse on him: 60% of the rules he saw were false. But at the same time, he awakened an ability that should not exist: the Eye of the Abyss. Hidden hints unfolded before his eyes, like the source code of a program. He could tell at a glance which rules were traps and which offered a way out. In the first instance, [Abandoned General Hospital], his teammates frantically recited the rules to stay alive. Lin Mo, however, tore the rulebook to pieces, page by page. “We aren't the ones who should be afraid. The thing that made these rules should be.” Just as viewers around the world thought the Dragon Nation was doomed, he walked out alive, having seen through the false rules. Later, the Abyssal will issued a world announcement, but it turned to gibberish before the message was even halfway complete. Humanity finally realized this graduate student hadn't come to clear the game. He had come to deconstruct its rules.
