I Opened a Rule-Breaking Cheat in the Paranormal City

[Don't go home. If you're already home, don't trust the me outside the door, and don't kill the me inside.]

On the day Lin Jin lost his job, he received a text from his late mother.

By the time he pushed open the gate to the old residential complex, where Building 4 should never have existed, the entire city had already become a deadly game ruled by rules.

Faceless neighbors, midnight broadcasts, a missing fourteenth floor...

Here, anyone who breaks the rules will be erased from existence, leaving not even a name behind.

But Lin Jin discovered that the world looked different to him than it did to everyone else.

When others could only risk their lives to test the rules in the Residents' Handbook, he could see blood-red annotations beneath them:

[Annotation: This rule has been contaminated.]

[Annotation: It can't open the door, but it can shut the wrong one.]

A fake mother lured people from outside the door, faceless monsters hunted them through the halls, and a deceitful building manager was pushing the living toward the abyss.

While everyone else trembled in despair beneath the rules of death, Lin Jin picked up a key with no teeth and crossed out the horror story's fatal option.

“If your rules leave no way to survive, I'll write one myself!”

With the abyss gazing upon the entire city, who, beneath the rules, is truly the prey?
