Li Yu is banished to the deathtrap city of Luofeng, with a hundred thousand enemy troops bearing down from outside and the garrison commander, Wang Mang, demanding military control from within. Li Yu activates the System and triggers his Rage Points by using an “enemy-baiting surrender envoy,” summoning the Black Armored Army to slaughter the enemy overnight. He then uses the System’s insight to expose Wang Mang’s treason and has him boiled alive in public to cow the army. Riding the momentum of his great victory, Li Yu leads his troops back to defend the emperor. On the way, he turns the crown prince’s own inspector against him, accusing the prince of treason. In the capital, Li Yu uses the System’s “Heart-Controlling Gu” to make the crown prince’s faction turn on itself. At last, he storms the throne room, has the crown prince hacked to pieces and devoured, and ascends the throne as emperor, beginning a path of iron-fisted reform.
