Journey to the West: My Pet Is a Pixiu, Devouring Heaven and Earth

After transmigrating as a little stone monkey, Lin Chen had a simple dream: farm and raise fish on Flower-Fruit Mountain, and enjoy retirement ahead of schedule. The spirit beast egg gifted by the System? It would make a nice companion.

But when the shell cracked and a palm-sized golden fluffball crawled out, everything changed!

[Ding! Chaos Spirit Beast, Pixiu (juvenile), has been bound. Ability: devour all things. Appetite: unlimited.]

The Black Bear Spirit blocks the way? Pixiu goes “yum,” swallowing bear and armor in one bite, then burps contentedly.

The Yellow Wind Monster’s Samadhi Divine Wind? Pixiu opens its little mouth and sucks it in like a cool breeze, then complains it wasn’t strong enough.

Yellow Brow Old Buddha’s Human Seed Bag? Pixiu crawls inside and crunches through the magic treasures like snacks!

To feed this Bottomless Cave, Lin Chen is forced to leave Flower-Fruit Mountain and embark on a “scavenging tour of the Three Realms.”

“Bull Demon King, the flames from your Flaming Mountain look great. Mind if I borrow some to grill a skewer for my pet?”

“Dragon King, that Sea-Calming Divine Needle in your palace looks pretty chewy. Mind if my pet uses it as a teething toy?”

“Tathagata Buddha, I heard your golden lotus… Never mind, that one’s inedible.”

The gods, Buddhas, demons, and monsters throughout the Three Realms are trembling: That monkey isn’t scary. What’s scary is the pet in his arms that can never be fed! Lin Chen spreads his hands. “What can I do? I’m desperate too. I’m just a pet owner!”
