You Were Sent to the US for Further Study, but You Strip the Eagle Nation's Tech Tree Bare

Lu Chen, a top Wall Street M&A shark in the twenty-first century, transmigrates to 1982 and becomes one of the first government-sponsored students sent to study in the United States.

From the start, he's faced with hellish difficulty: a foreign advisor falsely accuses him of academic fraud, and he's about to be expelled and sent back home!

His former university president calls from back home, heartsick: “Lu Chen, it wasn't easy for the country to spend foreign currency educating you. Even if you have to memorize them by rote, you must bring back those mechanical blueprints!”

Faced with this desperate situation, Lu Chen smiles.

Memorize blueprints? Learn technology? Too slow! It doesn't matter whose head holds this advanced knowledge and technology. Why not bring the people and their equipment back, so they all belong to China?

It doesn't matter if he doesn't understand machinery. Lu Chen understands finance and how to make money!

He draws up plans for the era-defining “360-degree spinner wheeled suitcase,” earns his first fortune, and dives headfirst into Wall Street.

A year later...

The university president watches shipment after shipment arrive at Chinese airports: top foreign engineers, Russian pilots, and even the father of lithography machines.

The old president is utterly dumbfounded. “I told you to go learn technology, and you used foreign currency to buy their R&D center and ship it back home overnight?!”

Lu Chen smiles faintly. “High-stakes business warfare often calls for the simplest approach. President, please sign for this delivery. For the next shipment, I'm planning to buy Boeing's production line as scrap metal.”
