Journey to the West: I, Bodhi, Protect Sun Wukong from the Start

I woke up to find myself the master of Three Star Cave on Mount Fangcun: Patriarch Bodhi.

After taking in the stone monkey born of Heaven as my disciple, I laid down one rule in my cave:

“Only I get to discipline my disciples!”

Those gods and Buddhas in the heavens treated my words like they were nothing, continuing to use my disciple Wukong as a pawn and manipulate him as they pleased.

When Black and White Impermanence dragged away the mortal child who had treated Wukong kindly, when the Ten Yama Kings threatened to condemn him to eternal torment,

when the gods and Buddhas of the heavens pointed at my disciple and called him a “demon monkey,”

I finally lost my temper!

The puny underworld dares judge the benefactor of my disciple? Then I’ll shatter your Six Paths of Reincarnation!

The little Celestial Court dares question my disciple’s origins? Then I’ll tear down your Lingxiao Palace!

The so-called Western Heaven dares scheme against my disciple’s fate? Then I’ll bring down Spirit Mountain and make the Buddhas bleed!

All of you remember this: nobody messes with the people of Patriarch Bodhi, gods or Buddhas included!
