Reborn, I Tore Apart My Fake-Sweet Sister and Swore Off Romance

The stench of rain-soaked earth kept forcing its way into Lin Wanxing’s nostrils. She lay facedown in the mud, fingers digging into the sodden ground, black muck packed beneath her nails.

She panted, broken wheezing sounds rattling in her throat like a damaged bellows.

Her white dress had long since lost its original color, caked with mud, blood, and stains of uncertain origin. Her left leg twisted at an unnatural angle. It was broken, smashed by those two men with iron bars that afternoon.

The rain fell harder and harder, fat drops striking her face and stinging.

But compared with the agonizing pain that seemed to carve and scrape at her heart, this was nothing.

“Big Sis, you can go in peace now.”

A few hours earlier, Lin Weiwei had crouched in front of her, fingers pinching her chin. Her face, usually set in a pitiful, tearful expression, had been wreathed in a radiant smile.

“Everything in the Lin family belongs to me now. Mom and Dad’s company, that villa in the south of the city, and the jewelry in your safe... Oh, right. Brother Chenzhou said the paperwork to transfer the thirty percent of shares in your name has already been completed.”

Lin Weiwei leaned closer. The scent of her expensive perfume mixed with the damp air, making Lin Wanxing want to throw up.

“Were you stupid or what? I only had to shed a couple of tears and say you bullied me at school, and Mom and Dad believed me. I said you stole my necklace, and they scolded you without even asking questions. And Brother Chenzhou... Every time he came back from a date with you, he’d complain to me that you were as simple as a fool, agreeing to anything after a few sweet words.”
