Old Zhu, the Great Ming Is Bankrupt. Get Ready for the Reckoning

At the end of the Yuan dynasty, Zhu Chongba was so hungry and dizzy that he collapsed in front of a ruined temple.

Just then, Qi Jingze, who had transmigrated with modern technology and business knowledge, happened to pass by and saved him with half a cake of instant noodles.

Qi Jingze had meant to recruit a simple, honest refugee as his right-hand man, casually handing him a copy of The Militia Training Manual and An Introduction to Economics.

Instead, his right-hand man went on an unstoppable run, defeating Chen Youliang and wiping out Zhang Shicheng, until he became a founding emperor!

In the first year of the Hongwu era, the Ming dynasty was founded.

The officials at court lived in constant fear, dreading the day they would be discarded once their usefulness was over.

But the Hongwu Emperor, Zhu Yuanzhang, was fretting over his ledger as he secretly slipped into the mansion of Qi Jingze, the richest man in the Ming empire.

“Brother Qi, the Ming treasury is empty again. Could the central bank approve us another loan? We urgently need money for the northern campaign!”

Qi Jingze reclined in his grand armchair as Ming’s famed general Lan Yu massaged his legs, and smiled faintly.

“Old Zhu, a capitalist’s scythe is colder than a blade. If you don’t pay on time, I’ll have no choice but to liquidate the Ming empire!”

From then on, the feudal Ming empire took a sharp turn. With Qi Jingze at the helm, Old Zhu became the empire’s number-one wage slave, and the Ming dynasty raced down the crooked path toward becoming an industrial capitalist empire!
