She Got in My Car

On a rainy night, just as he was about to end his shift, ride-hailing driver Zhou Chen received a booking.

The passenger was a woman, deathly pale and soaked to the skin. She barely said a word during the ride.

Before getting out, she left him with just one sentence:

“Don’t let him reach the end of the line.”

Half an hour later, Zhou Chen saw her photo in the news.

The report said her name was Xu Wu, and that her murder had been confirmed three days ago.

But she had just ridden in his car.

When he reopened the driver app, he couldn’t find the booking.

Yet the water on the back seat hadn’t dried, and the bracelet she’d left behind was still wedged in the seat seam.

Zhou Chen wanted to pretend nothing had happened.

That is, until a text arrived on his phone:

Stop looking into her.

Only then did he realize that the ride he’d taken that night might not have been a fare at all.

It might have been a trap left for him by a dead woman.
