Married to a Eunuch as a Substitute, He Showed Off His Abs on Their Wedding Night

Modern-day assassin Ye Jiuniang transmigrates into the discarded daughter of a marquis’s household. The moment she arrives, she’s bound hand and foot and forced to marry the adopted daughter’s betrothed, Pei Xuange, the Eastern Depot’s Ninth Grand Eunuch, rumored to be a bloodthirsty, twisted killer. The marriage is supposed to bring him good fortune.

On their wedding night, the room is draped in red silk. Pei Xuange uses a bloodstained dagger to lift her veil, then sneers that he’ll skin her alive and make a lantern out of her hide. Ye Jiuniang, who loves money more than life itself, doesn’t cry. Instead, she presses a poison-coated hairpin hidden in her sleeve to his carotid artery, strips him with practiced ease, and tries to steal his jade pendant and banknotes.

But when she’s finished, Ye Jiuniang stares at the muscular body before her and its unmistakably impressive endowment, dumbfounded.

“So the powerful eunuch who rules the court actually has one?” Ye Jiuniang’s eyes gleam. “Pay me 100,000 taels of gold to keep quiet, or the whole capital will know your big secret by morning!”

Pei Xuange laughs in fury, grabs her by the throat, and throws her onto the red bed curtains. “Want money? Then let’s see if you live long enough to earn it in bed!”

From then on, the residence of the Ninth Grand Eunuch sees a “bloody battle” every night. By day, the two join forces to poison their enemies, scheme, and amass wealth in the court and the inner household. By night, they test each other in bed, every move deadly yet wickedly sensual. When the adopted daughter and her treacherous father plot a rebellion, Pei Xuange strides through a pool of blood in his python robe, killing his way across the realm with the coldest blade. Then he turns and slips the bloodstained key to his treasury into Ye Jiuniang’s arms, pleading for a kiss: “The money is yours, my life is yours, and my body is yours too. Just don’t look at other men.”
