The Great Ming’s Number One Corrupt Official: Old Zhu Begs Me to Stop

“Father, I understand now. An official in this Ming Dynasty can’t be clean. He has to be corrupt!”

After the Empty Seal Case, Cheng Yuliang watched his father die a tragic death and cast aside every last scrap of his moral principles.

In this turbulent Hongwu era, when being an official is dangerous and you can lose your head at any moment, Cheng Yuliang uses incredibly devious methods to amass a fortune.

Other people tremble with fear when they embezzle. He embezzles so brazenly that the emperor himself goes out of his way to cover it up.

He falsifies accounts to fool the Embroidered Uniform Guard and uses scarcity marketing to bleed the Jiangnan tycoons dry.

He doesn’t just want money. He wants power, and the boundless fortune of the Ming Dynasty!

Zhu Yuanzhang grits his teeth. “This scoundrel is a monstrous profiteer. Exterminate his entire clan!”

Empress Ma pleads desperately. “Chongba, you mustn’t! If you kill him, who will feed the millions of displaced people in the Ming?”

Prince of Yan Zhu Di sneers in secret. “Father, if you dare touch him, I’ll purge the court in your name!”

Cheng Yuliang munches on melon seeds as he watches the show. “For a corrupt official, I’ve got to be the greatest of all time, right?”
