The Empress Dowager Has Demoted the Official Again

Lord Lu, whose power dominates the imperial court, has only one weakness in his life: Empress Dowager Shen, who rules from behind the curtain.

He dares to argue with the entire court when attending the morning audience, yet every time he returns to the palace, she demotes him.

Everyone laughs at his bad luck, but only Lu Jinghe knows that the lower his rank, the closer he gets to her.

Empress Dowager: “Lu Jinghe, you never learn. Demoted five more ranks!”

Lu Jinghe smiles and bows. “Your servant obeys. I only ask to enter the palace every day and receive Your Majesty’s instruction.”

The entire court: So demotions are just your way of flirting?
