Shen Yan feels like he is on the verge of going crazy.
A broke illustrator driven to the edge by unpaid wages, overdue rent, and maxed-out credit cards, he finds a bizarre full-length mirror has appeared out of nowhere in his rented apartment. Reflected in it is always a strange man in a hoodie, silently warning him, "Don't trust him." Stranger still, the mirror seems to predict the future: Shen Yan sees himself signing a contract with Su Yu, an editor at a publishing house whom he has never met, but he also sees himself lying in a pool of blood. And Su Yu's name appears precisely at the most dangerous point in the mirror's visions.
A cigarette case engraved with mysterious Roman numerals and a note that reads "Don't answer the phone at three on Wednesday" tie together two people who should have had nothing to do with each other. Outside the mirror, the warm and cheerful Su Yu draws closer with what seems like a chance at redemption. Inside it, the silent man in the hoodie keeps sending warnings through fragmented images. Shen Yan can't tell whether the mirror shows illusions or the truth, and he can't fathom whether the person who keeps watching him from the glass wants to protect him, or... has been bound to his fate all along.
When the reflection begins to interfere with reality and the "future" is rewritten again and again, Shen Yan discovers that the mirror reveals more than danger: it also shows a past he has long forgotten. And between the editor named Su Yu and the mysterious man in the mirror lies a secret capable of turning his life upside down. Perhaps neither of them is meeting him for the first time.
