Son-in-Law in the ’80s: Living Off Women While the Whole Family of Women Calls the Shots

In his previous life, Lin Jiang was a tycoon who made billions as a middleman. Reborn in 1983, he has barely opened his eyes when the village Party secretary’s family publicly calls off his engagement, sneering that he is a poor nobody with no future!

The whole village laughs. No one will marry him? Lin Jiang promptly marries into the “sonless Su family” next door. They are saddled with huge debts and have only a fiery-tempered mother-in-law and four little girls so malnourished they are gaunt. The villagers point fingers and curse them as a family doomed to have no descendants.

The village is beside itself with laughter. “Lin Jiang’s lost his mind! He’s going to spend his life as their servant!”

Only Lin Jiang is secretly delighted. These people have no idea he has married into the family that will one day own half the country!

His mother-in-law will become a restaurant queen, the eldest sister a Hong Kong tycoon, the second sister a top medical genius, the third sister a scheming screen queen, and the youngest a leading scientist!

Bound to the [Era Goods System], Lin Jiang gets to cheat his way through life: trading government bonds, taking over abandoned factories, and working as an international middleman until he’s rolling in money!

The woman who broke off their engagement because she thought he was poor chases after him, begging to get back together. The villagers who mocked him cry and plead for him to help them strike it rich. Even the aloof Su women fall completely for him.

The eldest sister says, “Brother-in-law, I have money. Just have a bowl of braised pork with me.”

The third sister says, “Anyone who lays a hand on my brother-in-law won’t last in show business!”

His mother-in-law slams the table. “My son-in-law is heaven itself! Jiangjiang, pick any of my girls. Mom’s fine with it!”

Lin Jiang grins around his cigarette. “I’ll enjoy the soft life and still call the shots. I’ll spoil all five of them!”
