The Lie-Flat Princess's Daily Palace Intrigues

While everyone else transmigrates to become a workaholic, Xiao Jinse just wants to lie flat.

Born in the cold palace and motherless from a young age, she has sisters who are all masters of palace intrigue. Isn’t that perfect? She can sleep until she wakes naturally, sunbathe in the imperial garden, and snack on melon seeds while watching the drama unfold. She wouldn’t trade this life for anything.

But some people just won’t leave her in peace.

Her eldest sister calls her useless, her second sister mocks her as incompetent, and even the palace maids dare to shortchange her monthly allowance.

Xiao Jinse has had enough.

So at the talent competition, she performs “The Art of the Royal Nap.” At the academy exams, she deliberately scores just enough to come second to last. During the autumn hunt, she lies in the carriage the whole time, then shoots an assassin who tries to ambush her with a single arrow.

Gradually, things start to get strange.

The overlooked princesses she taught to slack off somehow survive palace intrigue to the very end. The eunuch she casually promoted for sweeping turns out to be a bookkeeping genius. Even the sharp-tongued young lord who’s always arguing with her starts looking at her with an increasingly intense gaze. “Xiao Jinse, what exactly are you pretending to be?”

Xiao Jinse protests, “I’m really not pretending. I just want to lie flat.”

Then, on the night of the coup, flames paint the imperial palace red. The third princess, usually the laziest of them all, stands on the palace wall in battle gear. Behind her are the intelligence network and bookkeeping squad she “accidentally” built, along with half the harem’s lie-flat crowd.

She yawns and drawls at the rebel leader, “Um, how about a deal? If you surrender now, I can still go back and take a nap.”
