The Path Through Ten Thousand Ruins

In the Age of Dharma Decline, Chen Yan, the last soul-walker in the human world, is swept into a rift in the sky screen while escorting a soul. It carries him into an endless prison called the Myriad Ruins Path.

This is a sea of infinite ruin realms formed after the barriers between the nine worlds of humans, gods, demons, Buddhas, ghosts, monsters, immortals, spirits, and otherworldly beings were shattered. Fallen gods and Buddhas of antiquity left their traces here; bloodthirsty demons run rampant; thousand-year-old monsters and immortals rise and fall; and ghosts bound by lingering obsessions haunt the place. Every being pulled through a rift has only one way to survive: enter the ruin realms, break their rules, seize fragments of the world's origin, and stay alive.

Each ruin realm is a gamble for one's life. In Withered Buddha's Crossing, three thousand years of obsession and betrayal intertwine. In Paper Doll Alley, a sinister game of trading lives for white paper closes in step by step. Within Kunlun Ruins, the truth behind the destruction of the immortal sect lies hidden in the depths of the sea of clouds. In the Demon Prison, a million demon soldiers' iron hooves trample the cycle of reincarnation. Those who defy the rules have their souls scattered; only those who survive the desperate trials can claim fragments of the world's origin and glimpse the secrets at the heart of the nine worlds.

Armed with seventeen ancestral coins for communicating with the dead, Chen Yan walks the endless path of gods and demons as a soul-walker from the human world. He meets fellow travelers, guides souls burdened by obsession, and breaks deadly impasses. A young assassin from the Night Demon clan, a nine-tailed fox who has lived for three thousand years, a Buddhist monk who gives himself up to save the world, and a ghostly soldier who has guarded Withered Buddha for three thousand years: companions from across the nine worlds, they journey together through one ruin realm after another.

Some say the end of the Myriad Ruins Path holds the secret of creation and the hope of reforging the nine worlds. Others say there is no end here at all, only endless slaughter and ruin.

But Chen Yan and his companions keep moving forward.

If the Buddha will not save them, I will. If the Path has no way forward, I will make one.
