The Track and Field God’s Rise from Office Drone to Champion

Thirty-year-old overworked office drone Lin Long watches Su Bingtian fall short at the Olympics from his rented apartment, so heartbroken he cannot sleep. When he wakes, he has been reborn in the summer after graduating high school at eighteen, with an acceptance letter from Beidan University still clutched in his hand.

This time, he refuses to settle for being a cog in a cubicle. A sharp-tongued sports System appears out of nowhere and forces him to choose the hardest track-and-field talent. From a “self-taught amateur” mocked by the school team’s veterans to winning one gold and two silver medals at the provincial games; from being turned away by the national team for being “too old with limited potential” to competing internationally as an independent athlete.

Thailand, Nagoya, Lausanne, the Shanghai Diamond League... With medal after medal, he makes a face-slapping spectacle of everyone who once looked down on him. A 9.85-second 100 meters, 20.00-second 200 meters, and 47.30-second 400 meters: he will redefine the limits of Chinese sprinters.

This is an underdog’s journey, run on sweat and sheer will. As doubts turn to cheers and an amateur takes the world’s highest podium, the once-heartbroken office drone finally outruns time, for himself and everyone who refuses to believe fate is fixed.
