Chasing Jade, Born of Ashes

Sui Yuanqing is a madman.

A weapon raised by the Prince of Changxin, he ate alongside wolves at seven and ordered a city’s slaughter at seventeen. When he licked the blood from his lips and smiled, even enemy troops trembled.

Until a woman unafraid of death appeared.

He broke her wrist, and she said, “The heir was right about you.” She carried him thirty miles along a poisoned road as his illness flared and told him, “Shut up.” She taught him to keep a diary. Its first page read, “Today I wanted to kill three people. I didn’t.”

“Why aren’t you afraid of me?” he asked.

“I am,” she said, “but I’m more afraid you’ll never have a choice.”

She came from a thousand years in the future and had read his name in the history books: “Tyrannical heir, killed by his elder brother at the age of twenty-seven.”

This time, she would teach him to rewrite his ending.

Not to become a good person, but to become someone who “can restrain himself when he wants to kill, and choose when he wants to hate.”

From heir to bandit, from bandit to general, from general to her husband.

Qingjin is reborn, and this life ends in happiness.

Set in the world of the original novel Zhu Yu, but can be read on its own.
