My True Love Is Destined to Be Sweet

The biggest regret of Meng Zhaoran's life was calling Lin Yushen "Lin Dog" on the red carpet.

Even more absurdly, she ended up costarring with him in three projects over four years:

In the desert, he handed her chocolate. In the period drama, he held her as they filmed a three-hour kissing scene from every angle. In the modern drama, he pinned her against the wall and asked, "Teacher Meng, are you still just acting this time?"

The whole internet went crazy shipping them, saying they "weren't even acting."

Only Meng Zhaoran knew how sly this man was.

When she sang off-key, he smiled and harmonized to carry her. When she sprained her ankle, he crouched to massage it and even pulled out the exact ointment she always used. When she couldn't get into the right headspace for a crying scene, he looked at her and softly said, "Think about your mother." But she'd never told him that her mother was a vulnerability she couldn't bear to touch.

At the wrap party, she drank too much and, mistaking him for his character, cried, "Don't go."

He held her and whispered in her ear, "I won't go. I'm acting, for you."

From "can't stand the sight of each other" to "it has to be you," from kneeling before her at the Starlight Awards to spending the rest of their lives together...

"I don't believe in soulmates. I believe that when I met you, everyone else became the wrong answer."
