A Craftsman’s Empire: The Nine Heavenly Works

Part Two of I Married Twelve Wives in the Ming Dynasty is here. Zhang Xiaohua waited until the emperor arranged a princess's marriage for him, but he had long since stopped caring about fame and fortune. He turned in his official seal, gave up his wealth, and retreated to the misty Jiangnan with fourteen beautiful confidantes, each with her own remarkable talents. There, he built mechanical servants and enjoyed a peaceful life. Five years later, the master craftsman Lu Ban appeared in a dream and revealed the secrets of the Nine Chapters of Heavenly Craft, scattered across the world. Gather them all, and one could pierce the mysteries of space and time and return to one's modern homeland. But if the secret volumes fell into evil hands, the world would descend into chaos. To find them and wipe out the remnants of the Black Lotus Cult, Zhang Xiaohua and his wives built the peerless amphibious mechanical ship Black Tortoise. Following the route of Zheng He's voyages to the West, they set off on a globe-spanning treasure hunt. A Ming Dynasty legend that spans the oceans.
