I Hate Bad Weather

Deranged, possessive young heir × well-behaved girl who follows the rules Campus romance / childhood friends / forced pursuit / both devoted only to each other / HE The funniest thing Leng Mian had ever heard was when her adoptive parents told her, “Mianmian, we’ll always be your mom and dad.” Ever since the phone call about the “mix-up” three years ago, her life had turned into a melodramatic soap opera. The fake heiress who took her place, the poor girl abandoned at the hospital by her birth parents, the cruel twist of fate that entangled both families: it had all landed on her alone. At least she still had Ke Xun. The young heir of the Ke family in Jingzhou was born with a cold expression and couldn’t be bothered with anyone. Beneath his dark, tousled hair, his beautiful eyes were always half-lidded with indifference. Only with her would his gaze soften and his low, husky voice call, “Mianmian.” Everyone in Jingzhou knew he came from a respectable family, was handsome and smart, and was the unwavering top student in his year. In everyone’s eyes, he was the perfect example of a distinguished family’s heir: proper and composed. Only Leng Mian knew the truth. When he kissed her, he wouldn’t let her pull away. When she couldn’t breathe and instinctively turned her head to escape, he forced her face back toward him, swallowing every trace of resistance, bit by bit. When she cried, “Ke Xun, don’t do this. I’m scared,” he only held her tighter, his voice as gentle as if he were soothing a child. “What are you afraid of? I’m not going to break you.” All he would do was lock her away. There was no light in the little dark room. His eyes were the only light. Leng Mian eventually understood: when the whole world forgot her, ignored her, and treated her like a background character, Ke Xun was the only one who was different. He hadn’t forgotten her. He had hidden her away. Content warning: The male lead becomes genuinely deranged later on, with overwhelming possessiveness and confinement in a dark room.
