Cat Ears and Bones

He's the most ferocious wolf in the jungle, but she makes him sheathe his claws.

Top LPL jungler Pei Jinkai, ID “Kai,” is known for his brutal playstyle and dubbed “the Bone of the Jungle.” No one knows he's a cast-off heir to a wealthy family who left home at fifteen and fought his way from internet cafe boosting to the professional league. Sharp-tongued and cold, he cares only about winning, until one day a photo trends online: him at sixteen, with slightly curly hair and cat ears, so cute it's unfair. And the artist turns out to be the girl in the audience who is always rolling her eyes at him.

Jiang Sexia is a die-hard fan of Song Jius and a Weibo doodle artist who goes by @AboutLittleBellflower. She gets into Harbor City for her idol, but by a twist of fate, Pei Jinkai sets his sights on her. “You drew this?” He corners her backstage, the cat-ear picture glowing on his phone. She stubbornly denies it: “You've got the wrong person! I only draw God Jiu!” He sneers. “Fine. Watch me solo-kill him tonight.”

Rivalries on the Rift, taunts from the women's team, and turmoil over his family background all pile up. When the whole internet accuses Pei Jinkai of match-fixing, Jiang Sexia draws him stroke by stroke, battered but standing tall. He grips her wrist. “Why are you helping me?” Blushing, she lies: “...Just happened to.”

Later, on the night he wins the championship, he walks toward her and lowers his head in front of cameras broadcasting around the world. “Jiang Sexia, how am I better than Song Jius?” She chokes back tears. “...The way you stole my idol's blue buff in the jungle... was really cool.”
