A Thousand Miles of Mountains and Rivers, Yet Home Calls

Lin Yuanzhou, an ordinary 28-year-old office worker, discovers a travel journal listing nearly a hundred scenic spots while sorting through his late father’s belongings. A note tucked inside reads: “Visit all these places, and you’ll find the answer.” He quits his job and sets off. From the sea of clouds on Mount Huang to the starry skies over Dunhuang, whenever he reaches a new place, he sits quietly for three minutes, and his father’s memories of what he saw and heard there come to the surface. These are “memory anchors” his father left behind through his words and habits, clues only Lin Yuanzhou can decipher. Along the way, he uncovers the stories his father left unfinished: a love that slipped away, an ideal abandoned halfway, and a father’s silent love. This journey across mountains and rivers is not an escape, but a homecoming: measuring family bonds one step at a time, and piecing together the truth of life as he travels.
