Transmigrating to 1958: I Have a Life Simulator

If you could live your life over, even if you only had three chances.

Wang Chao is an utterly ordinary young man from the modern era who unexpectedly returns to 1958 and becomes a commune member in the mountains of southern Jiangxi. Famine, political campaigns, enemy agents… The crashing waves of history come bearing down on him, and his only support is a System called the Life Simulator.

Three simulations a day, each one showing the future.

In the first, he is mistaken for an enemy agent because no one knows where he came from, then beaten to death.

In the second, he hides in the mountains and is mauled to death by wild dogs.

In the third, he uncovers an enemy agent’s conspiracy and is silenced.

Three simulations, three gruesome deaths. Wang Chao finally understands: in this era, there’s no escaping by hiding.

He chooses the riskiest path: take the initiative, and use intelligence gained by “dying” in his simulations to help the militia wipe out the real enemy agents. He establishes himself in the village under the status of “under investigation,” becomes a work-point recorder thanks to knowledge far ahead of its time, and uses one accurate “rehearsal” after another to escape every political storm.

While others are still struggling to get enough to eat, he is already planning ahead: improving farm tools, building irrigation works, and stockpiling grain. He counters the campaign of exaggeration with hard data showing real increases in production.

When the tide of political campaigns sweeps over the land, he uses his information advantage both to protect himself and to quietly safeguard the seeds of technology that should not be allowed to perish.

From a ramshackle hut in a mountain village to a county technical officer, from deputy director of the Industrial Affairs Office to a businessman controlling the economic lifeline of an entire region, Wang Chao relies on a simulator and a head full of modern knowledge to carve out a way to survive amid history’s crashing waves, for himself and for the people around him.
