Siheyuan: After Reporting the Whole Courtyard, I Flee to Hong Kong to Become a Tycoon

[Period setting + feel-good revenge + business]

Lin Weidong transmigrates to 1965 and becomes an apprentice at the Red Star Steel Rolling Mill, an orphan bullied to death by the beasts in his courtyard.

From the start, Silly Zhu beats him nearly to death over a six-yuan donation, and the original owner dies full of resentment.

When Lin Weidong wakes up and sees these hypocritical, greedy, violent neighbors, he smiles.

Put up with it? Not a chance.

With the last of his strength, he writes several letters of denunciation, documenting the hypocrisy of the First Master, Yi Zhonghai; the Second Master, Liu Haizhong, and his obsession with officialdom; the Third Master, Yan Bugui, and his scheming; Silly Zhu’s violence; Qin Huairu’s leeching ways; and the corruption of Director Yang at the steel mill. He sends hard evidence of every last detail to several key government departments.

Then, at the courtyard’s residents’ meeting, he publicly takes them on, setting everything off, before collapsing and breathing his last.

As the beasts panic over his death, an investigation team from above arrives in a flash and seals off the entire courtyard.

After “coming back to life” in the hospital, Lin Weidong has a pocket dimension at his disposal. Protected by the investigation team as a victim, he seizes the chance to slip away and vanish from the capital.

He heads south, crosses the border, and sets foot on the land of Hong Kong.

With knowledge far ahead of its time and the convenience of his pocket dimension, he starts with nothing and builds his own business empire, one step at a time.

Years later, the beasts from back then finish their long prison terms and return to their dilapidated courtyard, worrying about where their next meal will come from. Just then, a patriotic Hong Kong businessman named Mr. Lin returns home in glory and arrives at the courtyard gate.

What goes around comes around?

No. I, Lin Weidong, am back to tie up loose ends.
