The Woman Who Fell in Love with an Electrician

[Modern Romance + No System, Not a Power Fantasy + Family and Everyday Life + Local Customs + Ensemble Cast] She was once engaged to the village chief’s son, but after a funeral, her life takes a sharp turn for the worse: her mother dies unexpectedly, her father is diagnosed with terminal cancer, and her former sweetheart enters the dazzling world of the county seat and attaches himself to a rich beauty. She decisively pulls away from him, severing the feelings she held since her youth. Zhao Chengliang, a bricklayer from the neighboring village, sees her lonely and helpless. He understands her resilience and sympathizes with her hardships. After Chen Hong loses both her parents and has nowhere else to turn, she takes her dowry and marries Zhao Chengliang. To give her a better life, Zhao Chengliang travels to the provincial capital for work, leaving Chen Hong alone to watch over an empty courtyard. Zhao Gang, a cocky, handsome electrician, has long been attracted to Chen Hong’s beauty. With no one else around at the Zhao home, he edges closer, determined to claim her. On one side is Song Liang, once deeply in love with her but ultimately disloyal. On another is Zhao Chengliang, who treats her sincerely but is rarely home. And then there is Zhao Gang, watching her like a hawk and hiding his schemes. Three men, three different intentions, entangled in Chen Hong’s life. On the loess slopes of the Lüliang Mountains, this young woman, stripped of every source of support, struggles and grows amid love and resentment. She has twice let go of a man’s hand: once to leave the wrong man, and once out of resentment toward the man she loves. As for the road ahead, whose hand must she hold to find her way through this swirling dust?
