The Foolish Immortal Venerable: Old Huang and I Cultivate Immortality Together

A Mu, the village idiot of Qingshi Village, is the laughingstock of the whole place. He cannot speak and only ever grins foolishly. Every day, he sits at the village entrance with a three-legged old yellow dog he found. Then, the year a flash flood hits, he plunges into the rapids to save the dog and accidentally swallows a mysterious bead swept along by the water. When he crawls out of the mud, the old yellow dog in his arms suddenly speaks: “Idiot! That was the core of a Nine-Turn Resurrection Pill!” From then on, the fool is no longer foolish, and the lame dog is no longer lame. Together, the boy and his pet embark on a strange and fantastical path of cultivation. From a village youth bullied by everyone to an Immortal Venerable who shakes the Three Realms, A Mu takes the clumsiest approach along the hardest road, because he never forgets how, in that muddy field, the old yellow dog swept away the haze before his eyes with its tail.
