The City Is Full of Routed Soldiers and Civilians, but the Court Won’t Help, So I Will

[Power Struggles + Ensemble Cast + Love of Country and People + Satisfying Read + Both Leads Transmigrate + Alternate History with Historical Inspiration + People First]

Four years ago, Zhang San was thrown into an age of chaos after being hit by a car while saving someone. He became a defeated soldier in Jincheng, the capital of Yan. After gaining the Fate Correction System, he planned to keep a low profile, build up some resources, and live in peace. But when the Moro cavalry closed in, he was pushed to the brink.

The emperor fled south, the Daoist priest fell, and the entire city awaited slaughter. Jincheng had just three days left. With the lives of over a hundred brothers in his hands and scarcely any points on his System panel, Zhang San clenched his ring-pommeled saber in despair.

Should he and his brothers scrape by in a life of misery, or fight against the tide and carve out a path to survival with their own flesh and blood? From protecting grain in the streets to uncovering the secrets of the armory, from gathering the remnants of the army to taking on the barbarian cavalry, from defeated soldier in a time of chaos to emperor of a golden age, he tells the world time and again, risking his life: A city may fall, but we must never break our backs. When the sky falls, someone has to hold it up!

As System points collide with raw courage, and a modern soul meets the iron resolve of a chaotic age, watch Zhang San carve a path to survival with the flash of his blade and forge a legend with his blood and sweat in a three-day death trap. We held this city!
