The Midnight Tavern: Soul Ferryer

[Stoic Soul Ferryman] [Midnight Tavern] [Female Ghost] [Wolf Demon] [Healing] [Guiding Souls]

My name is Yu Sheng, and I run a tavern that opens only at midnight. The customers who come in aren't human.

There's a ghost in a qipao who has waited for sixty years, a wolf demon repaying a debt of gratitude, and an old man watching over his grandson. I guide them through their lingering attachments with a cup of "Worry-Forgotten Wine," and watch them smile and say, "I don't blame him," before the fluorescent light fades.

Then one day, a man covered in blood pushed open the door. A jade pendant hung at his waist, exactly like the one that had appeared in my dreams for a thousand years.

He called me his "benefactor." But I didn't know him.

Late that night, the fragrance of osmanthus drifted in, and the person I had waited five hundred years for finally spoke:

"Yu Sheng... protect him."

[She's back. But why won't she see me?]
