A Guide to Feng Shui in the Countryside

A firsthand account from a family of feng shui practitioners. The real feng shui practice comes in the middle and later chapters; the earlier chapters focus on the protagonist's growth and lay the groundwork. Read to the end, and you'll come away with something different.

In 1950, land was redistributed. Who ended up with the “Dragon's Spine Field” that no one dared claim?

In 1960, the dead were buried on the hillside, and the dogs barked all night.

In 1970, during the campaign to smash the Four Olds and destroy idols, the person leading the effort went blind on the spot.

In 1980, a newly minted millionaire built a house, and a snake fell from the roof beam on the day it was raised.

In 1990, a businessman brought a Pixiu statue home. Money came in but never went out, and his son was born without an anus.

Fifty years, a hundred stories.

Every one was witnessed by the villagers.

Every one was tied to feng shui.

Every one left people speechless in the end.

Someone asked, “Is it true?”

An old villager took a puff of his cigarette. “Believe it, and it's real. Don't believe it... and it's still real.”
