Dream Journal of My Late Wife

Three years ago, my wife, Su Wan, died in an accident. Three years later, I became the prime suspect in her death. It all began with a box of strawberries in the fridge that shouldn't have existed. My late wife's memo app updates itself in the middle of the night. Her wedding video hides a cry for help. In a locked room in the basement, there are fresh footprints and a wedding ring that isn't mine. The old man guarding the cemetery has gone mad. The coroner gave me a second autopsy report that completely contradicts the first. Even the psychiatrist I trust most has been secretly slipping me sleeping pills. Everyone says I'm insane, that I couldn't accept my wife's death and have developed severe delusions. But when I put on the VR headset engraved with our wedding anniversary, I finally plunged into the abyss. May 20, 2019: an endlessly repeating wedding anniversary. She smiled and told me she had already died forty-nine times. Every loop triggered an execution protocol meant to silence her. I thought I was uncovering the truth behind my wife's death, but in an encrypted file, I found the most terrifying fact of all: I was the test subject. Three years ago, I had already been declared brain-dead. In this deception that has spanned three years, who is the hunter, and who is the prey? As the layers of truth peeled away, I finally realized that behind the most extreme malice lay the most desperate love.
