Tales from the Mountains

Shen Wen and Chen Yu grew up together in the same village, never more than a step apart.

One was quiet and gentle, the other steady and dependable.

From innocent childhood to understanding each other’s hearts,

they had always held only each other in their eyes and hearts.

They reclaimed the fields and farmed, tending to life’s everyday necessities,

living on simple meals and keeping each other company from dawn to dusk.

There was no strife, no misunderstanding.

They simply guarded their little courtyard and the one beside them,

turning their ordinary days into the sweetest life imaginable.
