The Princess Consort Only Wants to Go Bankrupt, but the Regent Won't Let Her Go

Shen Zhiyi transmigrates into the body of a concubine-born daughter forced into a substitute marriage, and binds herself to the Vicious Poisonous Wife System.

All she has to do is squander the family fortune, anger her powerful husband, and get divorced. Then she can take a fortune back to the modern world and lie flat.

So on their wedding night, she points at the Regent’s nose. “Hand over the storeroom keys!”

Thinking to herself: So greedy! Hurry up and divorce me!

The next day, she buys up the city’s rotten fallen blossoms at an exorbitant price and packages them in the most expensive glass bottles.

Thinking to herself: This batch is rotten through and through. I’ll lose everything!

Instead, the capital’s wealthy ladies fight tooth and nail to get the rare editions, and the rouge shop rakes in gold every day.

Unconvinced, Shen Zhiyi buys the most remote haunted mansion in the capital and opens a shady murder-mystery game shop.

Thinking to herself: Surely this time you’ll kick me out, right?

Instead, it becomes a money-burning den for the sons of noble families, and the Prince’s estate has more silver than anyone can count.

Grinding her teeth, she bundles up every land deed belonging to the Prince’s estate and gives them to the Regent’s sworn enemy.

She shuts her eyes and awaits her doom. “Xiao Hanjin, surely you’ll divorce me this time!”

A soft laugh comes from behind her, and the next second she is gathered into arms trembling slightly.

“Zhiyi,” he says in a low, husky voice, “if you want the realm, I’ll put the blade in your hand. Why dirty your own hands?”

Shen Zhiyi is stunned.

Wait, is this man out of his mind?! I’m trying to get myself killed!

Later, the Regent kneels on one knee in front of everyone and puts her shoes on for her.

The whole city is in an uproar.

Looking at the endless money in her account books, Shen Zhiyi feels utterly hopeless:

When will I finally be able to clock out of this lousy job?
