Transmigrate as Li Chengqian and Teach Li Shimin to Rebel and Become Emperor

During the Wude era of the Tang dynasty, the imperial city of Chang’an was rife with undercurrents. The struggle over the throne between the Crown Prince and the Prince of Qin had reached the point where only one side could survive.

Eight-year-old Li Chengqian, heir to the Prince of Qin’s household, woke after a fall from a horse no longer a mere child. With knowledge of how history was supposed to unfold, he stepped into the treacherous bloodbath of imperial succession.

At the time, Li Jiancheng was tightening the noose at every turn, using the war against the Turks to strip the Prince of Qin’s household of its military power. Poisonings and assassinations followed one after another. Li Shimin was driven into a corner, where the slightest misstep could doom his entire family.

Using his child’s body as a blade, Li Chengqian came up with a funeral procession plan at the brink of life and death, foiling the Eastern Palace’s lethal scheme without a fight. At the Eastern Palace’s Hongmen banquet, he tested the poison himself and blocked the deadly poisoned wine, dragging Li Shimin back from the gates of death.

From turning the tables on the garrison commander at a Tongguan post station, to securing the state monopoly on salt and iron amid a crisis at court; from weaving the Changfeng intelligence network across the realm, to building a military industrial stronghold with ideas ahead of their time, Li Chengqian stirred up the Tang dynasty at the age of eight. Before the blood-soaked shadow of the Xuanwu Gate fell, he rewrote the fate of father and son, transforming himself from a pawn in the imperial game into the one who would shape the future of the Tang dynasty.
