Fox Spirit’s Immortal Path: The Years I Guarded the Three Realms

Gu Nianxi had barely been born when he was left alone in the grass deep in the mountains.

His father, Gu Yunzhou, the top scholar of the imperial examinations, was carried off by a black bear demon while searching for a lifesaving drink of water for him. His fate is unknown. His mother, Su Qingwan, princess of the Qingqiu Fox Clan, was seized by soldiers immediately after giving birth and imprisoned in the Chancellor’s dungeon, where she endured endless torment.

Unable to drink human milk or endure the mortal world’s influence, the half-human, half-demon fox child was on the verge of death when Lingxi, an immortal maiden of the Celestial Realm who protects life, rescued him and carried him back to the Nine Heavens Immortal Palace.

Six years in the Celestial Realm passed alongside six years in the mortal world. Gu Nianxi hid his fox ears and tail, suppressed the demonic power within him, and tried to become a well-behaved young immortal. But whenever he dreamed at midnight, he saw only two indistinct figures in a bamboo hut deep in the mountains, and felt the unbreakable bond of blood tying them together.

He scoured the Celestial Realm’s forbidden texts and finally learned the truth of his birth. He also discovered that his parents were still in the mortal world, desperately searching for him.

He trespassed into the mortal realm to find his family, stormed the Chancellor’s prison to save his mother, fought an army of wolf demons alone to protect his father, and wielded the Demon-Suppressing Sword, forged through the united efforts of immortals and demons, to face an ancient ferocious beast escaping its seal and protect all three realms.

The Heavenly Dao had decreed that only someone born of both immortal and demon blood could use their soul as a catalyst to detonate the Demon-Suppressing Sword, destroy the beast once and for all, and end the calamity.

He gave his life to bring peace to the three realms. As his soul scattered, all he could think of was the long-awaited family reunion that had never come, in the peach grove deep in the mountains.

The people of the three realms revered him as the True Lord Who Suppresses Demons. But all his life, he had only wanted to be the child by his parents’ side, the one who would never grow up.
