Holding Hands Doesn't Last Forever, but Letting Go Leaves Regrets

Design assistant Luo Lan and senior designer Zi Han meet by chance at a cafe during a torrential downpour, brought together by a collection of Petofi's poems. Their feelings quietly blossom through a shared appreciation for poetry and design. When Luo Lan receives an invitation from a design studio in Paris, she is torn between love and her dreams. Haunted by regrets over his mother's death, Zi Han becomes intensely possessive of their relationship, and the distance between them grows.

Caught between the pressure of a major project and an emotional cold war, Zi Han loses his judgment and cheats. Heartbroken, Luo Lan records their confrontation, and the two break up in the rain at the cafe where they first met. Luo Lan moves to Paris, where, with the help of her mentor Zheng Qingyu, she grows into an independent designer, infuses her work with poetic sensibility, and shines on the international stage. Zi Han moves out of the apartment full of memories and reflects on the roots of his possessiveness. Inspired by Luo Lan's design philosophy, he rebuilds his career and finds redemption.

At a design exhibition in China, Luo Lan, now an award-winning Parisian designer, reunites with Zi Han, whose career has begun to recover. She is poised and clear-eyed; he is steady and at peace. In the end, they choose to go their separate ways, carrying with them the gentle melancholy of the thought, "Holding hands isn't forever, but letting go leaves regrets."
