Team-Building in the Underworld

Zhong Xiaolou, a 35-year-old employee at a major internet company, died suddenly.

Well, dead is dead. At least now he could finally rest.

But when he woke up, he discovered that the underworld also had work, weekly reports, and team-building events.

He was assigned to the Reincarnation Affairs Section at the Huangquan Road Subdistrict Office. The section chief was named Zhong Xiaolou, too. His coworkers included Lu Buping, who died after being hit by a car following three years of failing the civil service exam; Hu Badou, who drank and bragged himself to death; Meng Jiangtang, who spent three years bedridden before her children sent her on her way; and Fan Wujiao, the Black Guard, who had been demoted to the grassroots for taking the wrong soul.

And then there was Bai Wuxia, the mysterious colleague who was always on leave and whom nobody had ever seen.

No funding, endless tasks, a laid-back boss, and an entire neighboring department full of violent-death ghosts.

Worst of all, the team-building notice had arrived.

Even the dead have to do team building? Do ghosts have any rights down here?
