I Pretended to Be Poor on My Return to the Capital, but the Sky Screen Revealed I Was Rich Enough to Rival a Nation

Lu Yuan woke up to find that he had transmigrated into the seventh prince of Great Zhou. His maternal grandfather had died in battle, his mother's clan had fallen into decline, and he had been sent to the impoverished, desolate Cangyun Commandery to fend for himself.

Guided by the survival rule, “The richer you are, the more you should pretend to be poor,” Lu Yuan wore a patched dragon robe by day and slept on a rosewood bed by night. He pretended to be broke to swindle subsidies from the treasury while secretly opening gold mines, making illicit salt, forging heavy armor, destroying two kingdoms, and even carving his own Imperial Seal in secret!

Five years later, on the emperor's sixtieth birthday, Lu Yuan arrived in the capital carrying a sack of moldy black rice and complaining about his poverty.

Who could have guessed that a sky screen would appear, revealing the secrets of Great Zhou's past!

[Prince Cangyun earns tens of millions of taels a year. His personal wealth is forty-seven times the imperial treasury's!]

[Prince Cangyun commands three thousand heavily armored cavalry and is invincible!]

[Prince Cangyun secretly carved an Imperial Seal, and even signed it with the character “Yuan”!]

The emperor, his father, was so furious he trembled: “Seventh son, you call this poor? Are you planning a rebellion too?!”

The second and third princes rejoiced: “Father, Seventh Brother is plotting treason. Kill him at once!”

But the very next moment, the sky screen revealed: [Don't rush. Prince Cangyun will ultimately ascend the throne with full legitimacy, becoming an emperor for the ages!]

Lu Yuan knelt in tears. “Father, I was saving all this for you! I only wanted to be a good-for-nothing. The sky screen is the one forcing me to ascend the throne!”
