Xu Siniu, the Last Woman to Give Birth in the Qing Palace

My name is Xu Sinü. I'm a bondservant of the Plain Yellow Banner, and my entire family serves the imperial household. Our status is lowly.

So I never dreamed of entering the palace to become some kind of consort. All I wanted was to stay with Brother Sun forever. Love comes first.

Unfortunately, the daughters of bondservant families under the Imperial Household Department all have to go through the selection process, and I became a low-ranking palace maid in the Forbidden City.

I was still longing for the day I turned twenty-five and could leave the palace to marry freely when the Empress gave me away as a gift, making me Wen Changzai to the feeble Emperor Xianfeng.

But I don't love Emperor Xianfeng. Who cares about him? Emperor Xianfeng can go to hell!

I never imagined that my father would frame Brother Sun and have him made a eunuch!

I thought Brother Sun wouldn't hate me, but I was wrong. He betrayed me!

Emperor Xianfeng demoted me to Xu Guannüzi!

To save myself, I ingratiated myself with the emperor, rising all the way to Wen Pin and bearing him his second son.

I became the last consort in the Great Qing's harem to give birth, and the last woman to deliver a child in the Forbidden City.

Noble Consort Yi had my son killed, along with the last imperial-born prince of the Great Qing.

She also pinned all the blame on the Empress, filling me with hatred for her.

I thought about taking revenge, but I didn't have the means!

Emperor Xianfeng did nothing, and I lost the last shred of affection I had for him. When he was critically ill, I even sent him on his way.

I was such a fool to believe Noble Consort Yi's lies and help her get rid of Empress Dowager Cian…

By the time I finally came to my senses, everything had been decided, and nothing could be changed.

When I discovered that Empress Dowager Cixi was having an affair with the grandson of the Mongol prince Sengge Rinchen, I didn't hesitate to report them…

The tragic story of the last woman to give birth in the Great Qing harem!

And the untold secrets of the Qing palace from those years!
