The Secret History of Fu Kang'an, Qianlong's Illegitimate Son

Fucha Fukan’an was Qianlong’s nephew by marriage and the nephew of Empress Xiaochunxian. He became an imperial guard at a young age, and by twenty-four was serving as General of Jilin and General of Shengjing.

Over the course of his career, he served as governor-general of Yunnan and Guizhou, Sichuan, Fujian and Zhejiang, and Guangdong and Guangxi. He also held posts including Minister of Works, Minister of War, and Minister of the Imperial Household Department.

After suppressing the Miao uprising in Hunan and Guizhou, he was exceptionally granted the title of Beizi. After his death, he was posthumously made Prince Jiayong, enshrined in the Imperial Ancestral Temple, and honored at the Shrines of the Loyal and the Worthy.
