Fleeing Disaster from the Start, Rebuilding a Paradise in a Chaotic Age

Gu Changfeng, reborn in a time of famine, opens his eyes to seven younger siblings, all gaunt and starving. With not a single grain of food from the start, he binds himself to the “Homestead Guardian” System. From then on, on the road fleeing famine, while others chew tree bark, he “finds” brown rice; while others drink muddy water, he discovers a clear spring; and while others tremble at the sight of bandits, he leads his younger brother in fighting back with a rusty blade. With wisdom and warmth, he guides his family through the flames of war and settles by the Ting River. From putting food on the table to clearing land and building homes, from fighting off bandits to opening a school, he raises his younger siblings into pillars of both learning and martial prowess, transforming a barren wilderness into an orderly Hakka village. This is no epic of kings and generals. It is the story of an ordinary man who, amid a crumbling world, builds an unassailable paradise for his loved ones through the most steadfast devotion. See how an ordinary man uses the simplest of wishes to rewrite one of history’s harshest eras.
