CEO Guan Takes a Wife

In high school, Zheng Qing hid her girlish feelings beneath her textbooks, writing one name over and over, but never finding the courage to say it aloud. Seven years later, she has become a cool-headed director at work, convinced that time has buried those old heartbeats and blushes. Then, at her best friend’s wedding, she sees Guan Xiangcheng again, the boy whose name once filled her diary. One glass of strong liquor, one night out of control. When morning came, he left her a burning confession and an empty room, and she chose to flee in a panic. After that came a barrage of messages, “chance” encounters everywhere she went, and an almost obsessive pursuit. He tried every way he could to knock on her firmly closed heart. When a bride-price scam exposed the truth about her best friend’s marriage, and she thought she was fated to resign herself to her lot, Guan Xiangcheng placed the key to his home in her palm. “You will always have the right to choose.” On a night when the evening tide beat against the shore, he finally taught her that love is not a cage, but the tenderness of helping each other become whole.
