The School Heartthrob Dropped from the Sky: I'll Take Your Childhood Friend's Place

Childhood friends + secret love + a newcomer who appears out of nowhere + a love that lingers as a regret

“You had countless chances to reach out, but all you learned was how to hide your hands behind your back. By the time you wanted to hold on, I was already standing under someone else’s umbrella.” Only then did he understand that the cruelest ending for childhood friends isn’t never having had each other. It’s knowing that they could have.

Fang Fei always thought her youth would be bound up with her childhood friend, Yu Xiao.

He was the popular class monitor, steady and outstanding, the only light in her youth.

Then Su Xiao appeared and shattered the balance between them. Yu Xiao’s silence and avoidance completely crushed the courage she had built up over so many years.

Just as she was losing hope and deciding to let go for good, Li Yan, the rebellious heartthrob of Class Seven who was always sleeping in class, unexpectedly barged into her world.

When she was a mess during her period, he took off his own down jacket to cover her up;

When she was anxious about exams, he stayed up all night organizing the solutions to the hardest problems;

When people gossiped about her, he retorted in front of everyone, “She’s mine. Who do you think you are, talking about her?”

He called her “Little Ice Cube” and said with a smile, “Looks like you can melt if someone warms you up.”

Yu Xiao’s belated tenderness could never compare with the newcomer’s wholehearted devotion.

When her childhood friend finally came to his senses and tried to win her back, he found that someone else was already by her side.
