Three Kingdoms: Chat in the Palace, Die a Loyal Hero Outside

The protagonist transmigrates into Liu Xie, Emperor Xian of Han, and wakes up under Dong Zhuo’s watchful eye.

Outside the palace, all manner of chaos reigns:

A man from the future uses a “Famous Generals Summoning System” to plunder the generals of the Tang, Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties;

A sorcerer performs rites to resurrect Bai Qi, the God of Death from the Qin era, and Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King;

Most outrageous of all, someone is reportedly close to assembling ten Tang dynasty generals. That “Heavenly Khan” is already on his way through time.

Liu Xie, meanwhile, has awakened a skill that is as plain as can be:

[Inside the palace, anyone who speaks with Us can be recruited by force, regardless of loyalty.]

And so

“Minister Dong, lovely weather today. Care to chat?”

“Chancellor Cao, come to the palace for a cup of tea?”

“General Lü, since you’re here, why not sit down and talk about your dreams?”

The next morning, the court session takes a startling turn:

Dong Zhuo is the first to kneel, Cao Cao willingly takes up the post of Minister of the Secretariat, and Lü Bu stands guard outside the hall, holding his horse and halberd.

When the other time-traveling powerhouses arrive at the gates with their cross-era lineups

Li Shimin rides the Six Steeds of the Zhao Mausoleum, Zhu Yuanzhang leads the founding nobles of the Hongwu era, and Xiang Yu brandishes his Hegemon-King Spear as they issue their challenge outside the city.

Liu Xie simply strolls up to the city wall and smiles faintly at the original Han dynasty officials he has “chatted” into joining him:

“Don’t rush.”

“Once they step through this palace gate, ”

“His Majesty will invite them in for tea.”

This is the story of a man who chats up everyone inside the palace until he has poached every last talent, then watches the immortals battle outside while quietly turning them all into his own people...
